16 Biblical Truths to Replace the Lies You Tell Yourself

Many of us tell ourselves lies. These lies can impact physical and mental health, decrease motivation and block success. Use these Biblical truths to replace the lies:

1. Lie: It’s impossible.

Truth: Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”  (Luke 18:27)

2. Lie: Nobody really loves me.

Truth: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.(John 3:16)

3. Lie: My physical health is preventing me from doing what God wants me to do.

Truth: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

4. Lie: I can’t do it.

Truth: I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

5. Lie: God will not forgive my sins.

Truth: As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:12)

6. Lie: God is never going to help me.

Truth: Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

7. Lie: Nothing ever works for me.

Truth: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

8. Lie: God has abandoned me.

Truth: Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”  Hebrews 13:5)

9. Lie: I can’t forgive myself.

Truth: Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)

10. Lie: There’s nothing I can do about the situation.

Truth: Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. (Luke 18:1)

11. Lie: It’s up to me to figure out how to fix the problem.

Truth: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

12. Lie: Worrying is natural.

Truth: Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

13. Lie: I can’t help being afraid.

Truth: For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7)

14. Lie: I don’t have the resources.

Truth: And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

15. Lie: My work does not matter.

Truth: Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:23-24)

16. Lie: I’m not smart enough.

Truth: If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5)

God is so powerful, all knowing, and wise that He already knows the fears and obstacles we will encounter. Having faith in his existence is important but actually believing his promises takes it to a new level! We only cheat ourselves when we don’t believe the WORD of God. Thank you for addressing the negatives we tell ourselves.

I am glad the Biblical truths resonated with you, Hartavia. It is important to replace the Satan-driven lies with God’s truth if we are to be who God created us to be and do what he created us to do. Continued blessings.
